Our non-profit 501(c)(3) organization is driven by a single goal; to do our part in ensuring the rights and freedom of those sentenced to Life Without Parole (LWOP) in Pennsylvania.
We strive to assist men and women who are serving LWOP obtain a second chance through clemency, and allow their voices to be heard beyond the walls. Many individuals serving LWOP have made incredible strides rehabilitating themselves and adopting a new way of life that is both productive and inspirational. We fight to help bring those that are deserving of a second chance home.
Also, Right To Be Free advocates for the change of legislation in Pennsylvania to put an end to the ongoing discrimination and inequality so that we may protect the rights of the people and correct the injustices that has devastated our cities for decades.
Working in collaboration with other organizations and the community at large, we will be able to make the changes that are necessary to bring these brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, mothers, and fathers home to utilize their wisdom and knowledge to help make a positive impact in our community.

Our Services
Helping individuals serving LWOP gain their freedom is the most important goal of our organization. We seek to support, empower, and provide high quality services to those incarcerated and their loved ones. Our success isn’t measured in terms of wealth or profit margin, but by the value we provide to those we fight for through education, awareness, and representation.
RTBF Newsletters
FREE bi-weekly newsletters include informative articles about legislation, case updates, legal and social news, and columns written by exonerated and wrongfully convicted ex-lifers that are now home. These newsletters are sent directly to those serving LWOP and they are able to submit their stories of achievements and transformation so their voices can be heard. In order to start receiving these newsletters, they must write a letter to the address at the bottom of this page. Clemency Assistance
RTBF can assist with the preparation, filing, and representation for those who wish to file an Application for Clemency, which includes Pardon, Commutation, and/or Reprieve. This additionally includes educating and informing those serving LWOP and their families on the detailed information about what is Clemency and how it works. We will walk you through each step of the way. Some of these services are free and some are very affordable and all proceeds go to continuing the work of RTBF. Paralegal Services
RTBF Paralegal staff are here to assist attorneys for those serving LWOP that are currently in appeal. Per Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility, Paralegals cannot give legal advice nor represent clients in court proceedings however, we can:

Community Outreach
RTBF volunteers in the community to bring awareness to those serving LWOP, but also to help stop the cycle of food and clothing insecurity, homelessness, addiction, underprivileged students, and violence within the city of Philadelphia. Additionally, RTBF meets with legislators to advocate for and promote change in our current legislation that affects the community as a whole, as well as our community behind bars. Organizational Collaboration
RTBF works in collaboration with multiple agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals to bring unity between them all. Working and building together creates strong forces that can be successful with tackling issues that are in dire need of change. We establish networking bonds between different entities with similar and like goals to ensure higher productivity and progression. We are always welcoming of entities that wish to build an alliance with us and act jointly towards particular goals. This can't be fought alone.
